Lukasiewicz-PIAP presents «Hunter» UGV

 In EN

The Lukasiewicz-PIAP Institute, a Warsaw based manufacturer of high quality mobile robots for counterterrorism applications, presented a prototype of a Hunter unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).

Hunter UGV was designed for a number of applications, such as protection of selected areas, monitoring of the country’s border, patrolling and reconnaissance and troop support. It has a cross-country traverse and obstacle avoidance capabilities and can conduct operations in an autonomous or semi-autonomous modes. The vehicle can move along on a pre-determined path, using GPS-based information and entry points. It is capable of avoiding various obstacles, which it stumbles upon on its route.

The 3,5-tonne platform reaches speeds of up to 50 km/h. It is fitted with a 110 kW generator which provides power supply to the vehicle’s motors and onboard equipment.

Vehicle’s autonomous driving capabilities is provided by a number of sensors, which its fitted with, including 9 HD cameras (a pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) camera, 4 hull-mounted navigation cameras and 4 drive assistant cameras, as well as a GPS receiver and two lidars).

Its operational capabilities are further provided by a number of onboard equipment, which the UGV platform can be fitted with, such as: hydraulic manipulator, cargo crate, sensors, ground-penetrating radar or a landing pad for a UAV.
